Two reasons to get a home battery now
Pick the profile that best matches you, and you'll know right away whether this battery is a fit.
You have solar panels but inefficient storage or none at all
You have solar panels and feed power back during the day for less and less. From 1 January 2027 net metering ends entirely, and storing becomes the norm.
- Covers the evening and night of an average household
- Charges automatically during the day with your solar surplus
- Expandable in modules as your usage grows
You pay premium rates during peak hours
You have a dynamic contract or high evening peaks. The battery charges during cheap hours and discharges exactly when power is expensive.
- Works with dynamic suppliers such as Zonneplan, Tibber and ANWB Energie
- Automatically responds to hourly prices and peak periods
- Also worthwhile without solar panels
Battery + inverter + smart meter
A home battery works as a system. This is the combination we recommend for this product: guaranteed compatible and delivered together.
Installation is a separate step, with a fixed price agreed up front: after your order a certified installation partner carries out a short installation survey and you receive a fixed quote. Using your own installer is also possible.
This manufacturer only accepts a fault report from a certified installer or from its own service partner. We supply the purchase invoice, serial number and proof of warranty needed for this.
Registration: Have your installer register the system in FusionSolar.
The Huawei LUNA2000-5-S1 is a smart, modular 5.0 kWh home battery based on safe LFP (LiFePO4) technology. Store your self-generated solar energy and use it in the evening: reducing your energy bill and making you less dependent on the grid.
Why a home battery now?
With the phasing out of the net metering scheme in the Netherlands, you are exporting to the grid less favorably. A home battery ensures that you maximize your own power consumption instead of selling it back for a low fee.
Installation
You purchase the hardware including VAT from ThuisAccuDirect. After purchase, we connect you free of charge with a certified installation partner, or you can arrange installation with your own installer.
Combine with a Huawei SUN2000 hybrid inverter for a complete system.

Installation by a certified installer is required. This product may only be installed by a certified installer, in accordance with NEN 1010 and the manufacturer's installation instructions. The manufacturer warranty is only valid if you can demonstrate that installation was carried out professionally, for example with an installation invoice from the installer. Keep that proof.
Questions about this product
Not as far as the manufacturers have released it. Across our dataset of 544 released combinations, Huawei releases this battery only for its own inverter platform, so anyone who already owns another brand of inverter is buying the whole platform here. That is Huawei's choice rather than a shortcoming of this model: of the 68 inverter brands in the dataset, Pylontech is named by 57 and BYD by 19. The manufacturers attach conditions, most often a minimum firmware version.
LFP (lithium iron phosphate). We did not take that from the supplier but looked it up per model, in this case in the manufacturer's datasheet. All 333 batteries we sell were checked this way and all 333 are LFP; 15 models were rejected by the same check and withdrawn from sale. LFP is the only chemistry we stock, because it is thermally more stable than the NMC chemistry found in many older home batteries.
Depth of discharge is 100%, so the full nominal capacity is usable. That is not a given: many manufacturers deliberately hold part of it back, because a battery drained completely wears out faster, and then usable capacity sits below the nameplate figure. Anyone comparing two models on capacity should put this figure beside it.
5 years. That is shorter than the median of 10 years across the 314 home batteries we sell that state a term. The term is therefore rarely what separates two batteries, even though comparison sites present it that way. The manufacturer's warranty document is on this page, so you can check the conditions with the party that has to honour them.
Yes. This is a fixed home battery wired into the consumer unit, which in the Netherlands is work for a certified installer. We sell the hardware; on this page you can request a no-obligation installation quote from our installation partner, who emails a fixed total price. You are not obliged to accept it and can have the battery fitted by your own installer.
