Two reasons to get a home battery now
Pick the profile that best matches you, and you'll know right away whether this battery is a fit.
You have solar panels but inefficient storage or none at all
You have solar panels and feed power back during the day for less and less. From 1 January 2027 net metering ends entirely, and storing becomes the norm.
- Covers the evening and night of an average household
- Charges automatically during the day with your solar surplus
You pay premium rates during peak hours
You have a dynamic contract or high evening peaks. The battery charges during cheap hours and discharges exactly when power is expensive.
- Works with dynamic suppliers such as Zonneplan, Tibber and ANWB Energie
- Automatically responds to hourly prices and peak periods
- Also worthwhile without solar panels
The Marstek Energy MARSTEK VENUS-E is a 5.12 kWh home battery that stores your self-generated solar energy for use in the evening, reducing your energy bill and making you less dependent on the grid.

Plug and play: you connect this product yourself. A certified installer is not required to connect the battery to an earthed wall socket. On a standard wall socket the unit delivers up to 800 W. To use the full 2,500 W you need a dedicated circuit, and that circuit does have to be installed by a certified installer in accordance with NEN 1010. Follow the manufacturer's manual when connecting the unit and keep your purchase invoice for the warranty.
Questions about this product
No, you don't need solar panels for a home battery to be a good investment. Paired with a smart energy management system (EMS), the battery automatically charges from the grid when electricity is cheap and releases that stored power when grid prices are high, saving you money every day, with or without solar.
Yes. Request a quote from our certified installation partner on the installation page; you receive a fixed price in advance. Only once you approve it do you order the hardware and we book the appointment.
The net-metering scheme ends on 1 January 2027. As a result, power fed back to the grid earns far less and a home battery pays for itself faster.
