Which home battery brand is best depends on what you are optimising for: price per kWh, warranty term or brand support. We put ten brands from our own catalogue side by side on figures you can check.
There is no best home battery, only a best choice given a particular starting point. This comparison therefore uses no stars and no ranking, but four properties you can verify on every product page: price per kWh, warranty term, cell chemistry and which inverters the brand supports. The figures come from our own catalogue and were checked on 18 August 2026.
How we compare
We sell every brand in this comparison, which means we have no stake in which one you choose, but also that you do not have to take our conclusions on trust. Everything below can be recalculated: the price per kWh is the selling price including VAT divided by the nominal capacity, the warranty term comes from the warranty document attached to each product, and the cell chemistry is listed as a specification on the product page. We compare only on properties the manufacturer publishes itself. What we do not do is make claims about real-world lifespan or service quality: we have no measurements for those, and selling an impression as a fact would devalue the rest of this page too.

Everything in this table is LFP. We stock only home batteries where a manufacturer document lets us establish that they use lithium iron phosphate. Why that matters is explained under LFP or NMC.
If price per kWh is your starting point
Then you end up with Deye, Vestwoods, Dyness and Felicity Solar. These are manufacturers who mainly supply installers and who do not spend their money on consumer marketing. The cells are LFP, the certification is the same as on the well-known brands, and Vestwoods' warranty at fifteen years is longer than most premium brands offer. What you give up is name recognition, the density of the service network in the Netherlands and sometimes the quality of the app. For anyone connecting the battery to an inverter they already own, who mainly wants as many kilowatt hours as possible for the money, this is the rational choice. The cheapest kilowatt hours in our range are in the larger rack models.
If warranty is your starting point
Then the comparison is shorter than you would think, because most brands give ten years. The exceptions at the top are BYD, which gives fifteen years on the Battery-Box Premium series, Vestwoods at fifteen years, and Pylontech with fifteen years on part of the Force series. More important than the number of years is what is covered: virtually all factory warranties guarantee a residual capacity, usually 60 to 70 percent at the end of the term, not that the battery keeps working. Also look at who carries out the warranty. With brands that have a European operation it runs through a Dutch or German service organisation; with brands that do not, it goes via the supplier. We attach the warranty document to every product, so you can read this beforehand rather than afterwards. How little the term itself discriminates, and what conditions sit under it per brand, is worked out across the whole catalogue in how much warranty you get on a home battery.
If system integration is your starting point
Then Huawei, BYD, GoodWe and Sungrow are the brands that have taken it furthest. They supply inverter, battery, energy meter and app as one designed whole, where the installer has little to configure and you get one app showing the entire system, including solar yield, consumption and charge state. Huawei's integration is the tightest; it is also the most expensive brand in our catalogue, at € 419 to € 694 per kWh. What you get back is a system certified as a whole, where firmware updates for inverter and battery come from the same hand. For anyone installing solar panels and battery at the same time who does not want to think about compatibility, that is real added value. For anyone simply adding a battery to an existing installation, it rarely is.
If compatibility is your starting point
Then Pylontech is the brand to know. It is the battery family supported in firmware by the largest number of independent inverter manufacturers, which means you can switch inverter brand later without throwing away your battery. That is the exact opposite of the closed systems above: you pay slightly more per kWh than with the cheapest rack brands, but you are not locked into anything. For installations that grow in phases, or for anyone with an inverter from a brand that does not make batteries itself, that is the safest choice. Always check the exact inverter model on the rating plate, because manufacturers release variants that look identical but support a different battery family.
LFP or NMC: why we only sell LFP
Lithium iron phosphate, abbreviated LFP, and nickel manganese cobalt, abbreviated NMC, are the two cell chemistries found in home batteries. NMC is more compact and lighter per kilowatt hour, which makes it attractive in cars where weight counts. LFP is heavier but has higher thermal stability, generally lasts more cycles and contains no cobalt. In a home, where weight and volume are rarely the constraint but fire safety is, LFP wins on every point that matters. On top of that, Dutch home insurers increasingly set requirements on the type of storage in or on a house. For that reason we sell only home batteries where we have established, on the basis of a manufacturer document, that they are LFP. That is not an intention but a completed check: the cell chemistry of 458 models was looked up, 333 of those we sell, and 15 were rejected and set to draft. What is the best home battery of 2026?
There is not one. Optimise for price per kWh and Deye, Vestwoods and Dyness come out on top, from around € 141 per kWh. Optimise for warranty and BYD and Vestwoods are the longest at fifteen years. Optimise for integration with solar panels and Huawei is the most developed, but also the most expensive.
Which home battery brand lasts longest?
Every brand we stock uses LFP cells rated at 6,000 cycles or more, which at 300 cycles a year works out at more than twenty years of theoretical life. In practice the warranty term is the limiting factor, not the cells. On that measure BYD, Vestwoods and part of the Pylontech Force series give fifteen years, against ten for the rest.
Is a cheap home battery unsafe?
Not by definition. The price differences come mainly from brand building, service network and app development, not from cell chemistry: the cheap rack brands use the same LFP cells and the same certification as the premium brands. What you should check is that the cell chemistry really is LFP and that certification exists. Here that is stated on every product page.
Is BYD or Huawei better?
They win on different points. BYD produces its own cells and gives fifteen years of warranty on the Battery-Box Premium series, the longest in our range. Huawei has the tightest system integration and the best app, and is the logical choice if you also use Huawei inverters. Huawei is the most expensive brand we stock per kWh.
Which home battery fits my inverter?
That is stated per battery on the product page. As a rule of thumb: brand-tied systems from Huawei, BYD, GoodWe and Sungrow accept almost exclusively their own batteries, while Pylontech and the low-voltage rack brands are supported by far more inverters. Look up the exact model on your inverter's rating plate and check it before you order.
