Deye names 132 battery brands in its own compatibility documents. That comes from our dataset of 544 manufacturer-released combinations. The count tells you how much freedom you keep: an inverter that names many battery brands lets you choose when you expand, one that names a couple locks you to that brand. Release is conditional, usually on communication settings, the inverter's lithium mode and the permitted application.

Up to 8 kWp of panels, against 5 kW the inverter delivers on the grid side. That 1.6x oversizing is deliberate: panels reach peak output only a handful of hours a year, so an inverter sized exactly to the array sits idle most of the time. At roughly 430 Wp per panel, 8 kWp works out at about 19 panels.

The SUN-4K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 is a single-phase inverter, which matches the connection most Dutch homes have. If your home has three-phase it still works, but you will not use the full capacity of the connection, and on larger installations the grid operator may require a three-phase inverter to avoid loading the grid unevenly.

On an inverter the term matters more than on a battery, because the inverter is the part that in practice gets replaced first: it contains power electronics that heat up and switch, where a battery mostly sits still. Do not extend the term blindly for a fee without checking what is actually covered; the conditions are in the manufacturer's document.
