Is this right for you?

When should you choose a hybrid inverter?

A hybrid inverter replaces your current inverter and gets your installation ready for storage and smart control.

Storage-ready

“I want a battery, but I have a standard inverter”

A standard string inverter cannot charge or control a battery. This hybrid inverter replaces it (your panels stay in place) and connects directly to a compatible home battery.

  • Suitable for roofs with multiple orientations
  • DC coupling with the battery: less conversion loss
  • Add a battery now or later: the system is ready for it
Smart control

“I want to trade on dynamic prices”

With a smart energy meter added, the system responds to hourly prices and peak periods: charging when power is cheap, discharging when it's expensive.

  • Works with dynamic suppliers such as Zonneplan, Tibber and ANWB Energie
  • Per-phase monitoring via the app
  • Whisper-quiet, suitable for indoors

The Deye SUN-4K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 is a 5 kW inverter that converts the DC power from your solar panels into usable AC power for your home and the grid. The inverter has 2 MPPT trackers, handles up to 8 kW of DC input, delivers a nominal AC output current of 6.1 A (6.7 A max) and accepts a PV input current up to 40 A. It also has an IP65 rating, operates reliably from -20°C to +60°C, reaches a peak efficiency of 97.5% and comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty.

Installation by a certified installer is required. This product may only be installed by a certified installer, in accordance with NEN 1010 and the manufacturer's installation instructions. The manufacturer warranty is only valid if you can demonstrate that installation was carried out professionally, for example with an installation invoice from the installer. Keep that proof.

Questions about this product

Deye names 132 battery brands in its own compatibility documents. That comes from our dataset of 544 manufacturer-released combinations. The count tells you how much freedom you keep: an inverter that names many battery brands lets you choose when you expand, one that names a couple locks you to that brand. Release is conditional, usually on communication settings, the inverter's lithium mode and the permitted application.

Up to 8 kWp of panels, against 5 kW the inverter delivers on the grid side. That 1.6x oversizing is deliberate: panels reach peak output only a handful of hours a year, so an inverter sized exactly to the array sits idle most of the time. At roughly 430 Wp per panel, 8 kWp works out at about 19 panels.

The SUN-4K-G06P3-EU-BM2-P1 is a single-phase inverter, which matches the connection most Dutch homes have. If your home has three-phase it still works, but you will not use the full capacity of the connection, and on larger installations the grid operator may require a three-phase inverter to avoid loading the grid unevenly.

5 years of manufacturer warranty. On an inverter the term matters more than on a battery, because the inverter is the part that in practice gets replaced first: it contains power electronics that heat up and switch, where a battery mostly sits still. Do not extend the term blindly for a fee without checking what is actually covered; the conditions are in the manufacturer's document.
